Through this program, students earn credits toward an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Degree in Maritime Technology while preparing to enter The Apprentice School’s registered apprenticeship program.

Student Eligibility:
To apply for the EDGE program, you must:
- Hold a GPA of 2.0 or higher, with grades of C or better in math and science.
- Have completed Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II.
- Demonstrate competence in reading and writing.
- Submit your official transcripts and application by the deadline.
- If under 18, provide written consent from a parent or guardian.
Who can participate in EDGE?
- Current HII Employees looking to transfer into The Apprentice School
- Qualified Night School Candidates
- High School Juniors and Seniors
- Those with contingent offers – individuals who have been offered a position at The Apprentice School but have not yet officially started or met all the requirements.
- New Starts – individuals who have begun the hands-on apprenticeship work but have not yet started or completed the formal academic classes.
